Rīgas satiksme transported more than 9.2 million passengers in August
In August, Rīgas satiksme transported a total of 9,221,528 passengers. The most popular route remained tram route No. 1, which carried 936,937 passengers. Among bus routes, route No. 3 recorded the highest number of passengers, with 550,280, while trolleybus route No. 15 retained the top position among trolleybus routes, with 492,303 registered passengers. During the month, buses, trolleybuses and trams travelled nearly 3 million kilometres across the city's public transport network.
The highest number of passengers was recorded on buses, which transported 4,079,222 passengers. Trolleybuses carried 3,025,432 passengers, while trams transported 2,116,874 passengers.
The lowest passenger numbers in August were recorded on tram route No. 10, with 68,819 passengers; bus route No. 34, with 6,294 passengers; and trolleybus route No. 20, which carried just 3,213 passengers.
A total of 6,229 passengers used the eight night bus routes operating on weekends and public holidays. The N22 route was the most popular, recording 2,267 passengers in August.
